Job Description

We are now hiring Cooks to work in a safe and secure environment. We seek reliable individuals ready to return to work, with or without previous customer service and food/kitchen service experience. Candidates will receive comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401k.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.

• Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, and ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.

• Taste all prepared food items to ensure quality.

• Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain records from areas worked during service periods.

• Clean the kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

• Store or discard excess food following safe food-handling procedures.

• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat.

• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.

• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.

• Assist in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.

• Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor.

• Attend in-service and safety meetings.

• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.

• Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must pass the qualification exam with 75% or higher

• Must have 3-5 years of cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant or facility

• Experience with WOK cooking is a plus

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in PG County, MD. Various shifts (1st & 2nd) are available, assigned through a shift bid due to the unionized site. Candidates must be open to all shifts and maintain excellent attendance and attitude, especially during the first six weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PG County, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.50
