MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sets up and operates a CNC 5 Axis Milling Machine
Interprets drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of specific machining operations
Load and edit control media to optimize and/or correct machine performance
Calculates and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control elements.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunction and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Through the use of precision measurement tools to verify conformance of work piece to specifications within tight tolerances.
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment
The proper maintenance of the machine and housekeeping of their work area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
College Diploma or Certified Apprenticeship program in General Machining, Tool & Die or Mould Maker preferred or Mechanical Technician Diploma
Minimum 2+ years of recent experience operating and programming a 5 Axis Milling Machine
Proven knowledge interpreting engineering drawings and use of hand measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc)
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
