Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Principal Product Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Orland Air Station, Norway.

Job Description

Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in aircraft systems, on-site instruction and task training for customer maintainers.

  • Assist customer with resolving complex aircraft maintenance discrepancies / anomalies. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to sole moderate to complex problems.

  • Utilize aircraft ground support equipment to perform aircraft maintenance tasks.

  • Learn other specialties for total team performance in aircraft build, removal and installation of aircraft components, operational and functional checks, and modification or other maintenance roles. 

  • Conduct maintenance operations in accordance with policies and procedures set forth by governing regulatory documents to include tool control, quality, safety, aircraft maintenance documentation, etc.

  • Conduct on-aircraft task training for maintainers. 

  • Coordinate training schedules with military customer.

  • Provide training completion records to military service representatives for insertion into training records.

  • Maintain courseware instruction and on-aircraft task training by conducting periodic reviews of course material and incorporating updates as required. 

  • stablish strong working relationship with contract/military customer.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have 9 years of F-35 experience. Will consider a bachelor's degree and 5 years of applied experience; or, a master's degree and 3 years of experience.

  • 4 Years hands-on military aircraft airframe, powerplants, and/or air vehicle systems maintenance experience. Must be able to provide historical training records and/or certificates detailing completion of aircraft technical training courses and all aircraft task qualifications.

  • US Air Force Red X certified 5 or 7-skill level, US Navy/Marine Corps CDI/CDQAR, or equivalent FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License.

  • A current Secret or higher Clearance.  

  • Ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance, as required. 

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.

  • Able to meet the physical demands of this position, including regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach. (The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist). 

  • Attended a military or civilian Basic Instructor Course.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with working multiple aircraft and programs simultaneously.

  • Lead Production Supervisor or Maintenance Control Supervisor experience.

  • Highly skilled in using MS Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.

  • Experience identifying and procuring consumables, HAZMAT, tooling, and spare parts required for specific operations.

  • Experience developing courseware and training products.

Salary Range: $73,300 - $109,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
