Job Title: Civil Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be trained on preparing engineering construction documents for various residential, commercial, and industrial developments. You will perform design tasks including site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, earthwork, soil erosion and sediment control, and civil/site permitting. Additionally, you will prepare flood studies, help with the design of site plans, zoning plans, and subdivisions, ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, maintain accurate project documentation, and attend professional development training. You will also be required to conform to standard CAD procedures and perform site inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering construction documents for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.

  • Perform design tasks such as layouts, grading, and drainage for civil engineering projects.

  • Prepare flood studies and flood hazard area permitting.

  • Assist in the design of site plans, zoning plans, and subdivisions.

  • Ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for assigned projects.

  • Attend professional development training sessions.

  • Conform to standard CAD procedures for layering and drawing procedures.

  • Conduct site inspections.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

  • Coursework in Civil Engineering and AutoCAD

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Experience in land development, stormwater management, grading, and site development

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in technical skills within AutoCAD

  • Understanding of stormwater management and grading

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team

  • Desire to advance professionally and embrace challenges

  • Capacity to find creative solutions and think independently

Work Environment

This position is based in an office setting located in Bayville, NJ. You will be collaborating closely with a total of 8 other team members. Flexible scheduling and room for a hybrid schedule along with flexible work hours are available. The work environment is supportive and inclusive, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $31.25/hr.
