At Cognizant, we are seeking a skilled Data Steward whose focus will be supporting our Master Data Management (MDM) system for a work-from-home opportunity. The role involves a variety of critical tasks, including data cleaning, data enrichment, data mapping, and operational cleanup activities.

Cognizant is an authority in pharmacovigilance (PV) services, with best-in-class processes and expert PV resources; innovating AI, automation and cloud-infused PV technologies; and an end-to-end partner ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with data stewardship using Veeva Vault. Additional responsibilities include logic mapping, the creation of naming conventions, and manual data uploads. The role also requires strong proficiency in Excel, particularly in using pivot tables and other advanced features, to identify data gaps and support assessments.

Here is a snapshot of the role:

Data Stewardship

  • Proven experience in managing and maintaining data quality within MDM systems.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data cleaning, enrichment, and mapping practices.
  • Experience with operational cleanup activities, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Technical Expertise
  • Strong Excel skills, including sophisticated features like pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools, to identify gaps, perform assessments, and support data quality improvements.
  • Proficiency in Veeva Vault, particularly in managing data and document processes.
  • Familiarity with IDMP (Identification of Medicinal Products) standards and regulatory requirements for medicinal products.
  • Experience with data management tools and platforms
  • Ability to perform manual data uploads and ensure data accuracy.

Analytical Skills

  • Ability to conduct logic mapping to align data processes with business requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
  • Capability to analyze large datasets, identify inconsistencies, and resolve discrepancies.

Data Management

  • Experience in supporting the creation and implementation of naming conventions for data objects and attributes.
  • Ability to contribute to testing efforts, ensuring that data processes and systems function as expected.
  • Decision-making strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Attention to Detail; have a meticulous approach to ensure data consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communication; proven professional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability; ability to quickly adapt to new systems, processes, and industry standards in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaboration; team-oriented with the ability to coordinate with various business partners to achieve project goals.

The ideal profile to be a successful contender for this exciting opportunity includes

  • BS in a life science or related program or an MBA a plus
  • Be fluent in English. Other language fluency would be a great asset
  • Progressive experience in data management in the pharmaceutical industry in the EU
  • Advanced Veeva Vault experience
  • Proven data management background including cleaning, mapping, enriching, etc.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $85,000 - $105,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
