Red Hat Go Software Engineer - OpenShift Data Collection in Brno, Czech Republic

The Red Hat OpenShift Observability team is looking for an engineer to join us in Brno, in the Czech Republic. Be prepared to join a team developing components that gather health data from Openshift clusters that predictively use that data to prevent problems before they appear. This is a very high-profile project and a unique opportunity to shape the future direction of the entire Red Hat. This is a hybrid position, with the expectation to visit the office on a regular basis, typically at least once a week.

What will you do

  • Develop and maintain Red Hat OpenShift operators (https://github.com/openshift/insights-operator) that collect configuration data for health check analysis

  • Work closely with Openshift Engineering Team and identify data resources with added value

  • Deliver data collection solutions for upcoming Openshift features

  • Collaborate closely with the QE and other teams

  • Work in Agile framework, actively communicate status and regularly demo results of the work

What will you bring

  • Strong software development experience, with a focus on Go or similar programming languages.

  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Podman, etc.

  • Proficiency in Git for version control and collaboration.

  • Experience working in a Linux-based environment.

  • Open-mindedness, with a strong passion for learning and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse, team-oriented environment.

The following are considered a plus:

  • Familiarity with container-related technologies like Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.

  • Knowledge of Python, Java or other programming languages

  • Knowledge of Prometheus
