Department Description
Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is creating new Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions that operate at high scale in a distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to give them best-in-class compute, storage, networking, database, and security services, plus an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based tools.

Position Overview
We’re looking for engineers with a passion for solving complex problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. You’ll have the chance to design and build innovative solutions from the ground up. We’re still in the early stages of a fast-growing environment, so there’s an opportunity for significant impact—both technically and business-wise—at all levels.
Job Responsibilities
As a Member of Technical Staff / Software Developer , you will:
Collaborate with your team to design, develop, and operate components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure.
Dive into various parts of the stack and learn about distributed systems, virtualization, and scalable services.
Embrace simplicity and scalability in technical design and team processes.
Work in a collaborative, agile environment where you can continually grow and take on new challenges.
Candidate Profile
1–3+ years of software development experience (includes internships, open-source contributions, or other practical projects).
Proficiency in Java, C, or C++ , plus experience or willingness to work with scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.).
Foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals .
Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and basic network architectures.
Exposure to or strong desire to learn about databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
Good understanding of Linux (or a strong interest to learn).
Ability to troubleshoot code and performance issues, with a willingness to refine your skills in performance tuning.
Nice to Have : Experience working on multi-tenant systems, virtualized infrastructure, or large-scale distributed systems.

Foundational software engineering experience with distributed systems (academic or real-world).
Motivated self-starter who is ready to take on challenging tasks and learn quickly.
Virtualization experience or an eagerness to get hands-on with it.
