Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst in Brookline, Massachusetts
The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst II supports Institute-wide financial forecasting, business modelling, profitability analysis, and special projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in development of financial reports and planning tools to evaluate Institute-wide and business unit financial performance to support decision making within Finance as well as at the department level.
Uses discretion and independent judgment to prepare trend analyses, profitability analytics and ad hoc financial reports. Investigates drivers of change and communicates key findings to Budget leadership.
Supports the development of business plans, scenario analyses and pro forma analyses to facilitate business partners’ decisions around new projects and Institute initiatives.
Gathers data and prepares analysis to address business partner requests and summarizes data analysis for Finance leadership.
Assists in the production of monthly and quarterly reporting by line of business, disease center, service type, and location that are distributed and presented to executives and key stakeholders.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred. Experience in accounting or finance may substitute for degree.
Minimum Experience:
2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business modelling, preferably in the health care industry. Understanding of financial statements and financial forecasting required. Automated GL system, budget and planning system experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Advanced understanding of financial statements and financial forecasting.
Skilled at complex financial analysis, aggregating, manipulating and summarizing large data sets.
Superior MS suite skills including advanced excel functions like pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups.
Ability to adapt to new technologies as needed.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills.
Knowledge of automated GL system, budget and planning system and basic Strata experience.
Ability to communicate effectively with Finance teams and key stakeholders and escalate identified issues to Finance leadership.Ability to handle complex and multi-part analyses.
Ability to exercise superior judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills to effectively work and communicate on sensitive political and confidential issues.
