    Responsibilities

    Under the direction of the Director, AFC Equipment Installation, the selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing capital project drawings and specifications to determine force account estimates/TA Labor costs for support work; reviewing power and communication shop drawings to ensure compliance with AFC Guidelines; reviewing in-house construction drawings and providing comments. The selected candidate will also coordinate with the Construction Manager/Design Manager to ensure receipt of drawings, scope of work, design criteria manual, specification, and project requirement design criteria (PRDC); attend project coordination and field meetings; plan & coordinate field surveys; update/create as built drawings for the installation of all Automated Fare Collection (AFC) equipment and have experience in the collection, evaluation, and use of data.

    Education and Experience

    A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License and either:

    1. A master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; Or

    2. Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work.

    Note: A degree in any other engineering area, or in any engineering technology area is NOT acceptable.

    Special note:

    In addition to above qualification requirements, to be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels II and III, individuals must have at least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project.

    Desired Skills

  • Professional experience utilizing Bentley MicroStation.

  • Knowledge of ADA code and regulations.

  • Knowledge of Civil, Electrical and Communication standards and practices

  • Knowledge of NYCT Subway System.

  • Knowledge of NYCT Rules and Regulations.

  • Knowledge of Design Build Project.

  • Excellent supervisory skills and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
