Position Description

The Metrics Lead role is critical in developing, maintaining, and optimizing our metrics infrastructure to support our mission-driven initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and social impact, leveraging systems engineering to support our organizational goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the definition and content of performance measures and metrics for DoD investments against targets and goals.
  • Lead and collaborate across teams for implementing configuration management and data management of performance measures and metrics.
  • Lead efforts across stakeholder groups to coordinate updates to metrics frameworks, definitions, and content.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in systems engineering and apply them to improve our metrics infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of performance measures and metrics techniques.
  • Experience with relational databases or other similar frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating/brokering agreements across stakeholders.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead working group meetings.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience managing requirements, performance measures, and metrics content for project teams.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Atlas-SharpCloud and Palantir-Foundry.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerApps, PowerBI. and Lucid.
  • Experience with systems engineering principles and practices.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of post-degree experience, or comparable combined education and experience, in the above fields or a related role, preferably in a non-profit or government contracting environment.
  • Certifications such as Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Travel Expectations:

  • Expected travel: Minimal - less than 10%.
