Moog's Electric Motion Solutions (EMS) division is looking for a Business Unit (BU) Engineering Director. You will report to the GVP & GM in the Western New York area. You will be responsible for ensuring the engineering organization is positioned to generate value within a growth Division/BU for the company in dynamic and challenging business conditions.

You will be responsible for providing insightful direction to a multi-disciplinary engineering team driven by collaboration with Business Leaders while balancing Division/BU strategies, technology needs, and deliverable commitments from Engineering. You will build and sustain a high performing and engaged Engineering team through individual mentorship and team leadership.

You will be a part of the EMS Leadership Team working to align EMS Engineering strategies and initiatives to Business Leadership strategies and expectations. You will work with peers and colleagues across Industrial Group to ensure the BU Engineering team is equipped to meet expectations for current and future business needs.

You will support the Division Leadership team and Business Unit Leadership with sound engineering/technology recommendations and plans based on input from their assigned team and their prior experience.With the EMS VP & GM, you will align on specific goals that ensure the BU Engineering team purpose and value proposition are clear and understood by all stakeholders.

Here's what you will need to bring to be considered:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Software, etc.)

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years' experience in design engineering, development engineering, and/or product engineering.

  • Minimum of eight (8) years in progressive leadership role leading, developing, influencing and/or managing others. Proven ability to establish and execute strategy.

  • Demonstrated competence in facilitative, consensus-driven decision making. Experience influencing both internal and external program teams.

  • Strong business acumen

Here's what you will be doing on a day-to-basis:

  • Ensure the engineering organization is positioned to generate value within a growth Division/BU for the company in dynamic and challenging business conditions

  • Ensure the Engineering team is delivering technical solutions that meet customer and internal team expectations while maintaining our overall commitment to Product Integrity

  • Develop and/or acquire Long Term Engineering skills matching the strategic needs of the business

  • Identify and work gaps within EMS technology strategies, assigning resources as applicable to enable robust execution

  • Managing the team expenses to meet budget commitments for the department(s) and individual programs/projects

  • Managing overall team performance and individual employee satisfaction through the Business Unit Engineering management teams.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $190,000.00-$290,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
