Brief Job Description
Two (2) positions are available.
These positions come with a tuition scholarship that will cover upto 9 credits of tuition at the in-state rate.
The Graduate Assistant (GA) is an experienced graduate staff position that is utilized in halls to support programming and retention initiatives in the complex. This position is designed for a 20 hour per week work commitment for 10 months with the possibility of summer employment. GA’s are expected to live on-campus in an assigned apartment within the residence halls. GA’s are provided with a tuition waiver of up to 9 credits of in-state tuition per semester, meal plan, and a stipend of $8000/year.
Responsibilities include creating a positive living community amongst the building, supervising a student staff, tracking programming efforts, and hearing low level conduct cases. This position participates in an on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
Current or entering full-time (6 credit hours) matriculated graduate student at Buffalo State University. This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills; the candidate must exhibit professionalism and the ability to work successfully within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with prior residence hall or student leadership experience at the undergraduate level.
