What You Will Do:
Inspect units for the required level of cleanliness, documented release for assembly, visual appearance of welds, and bundle insertions.
Verify compliance with contract requirements; verify/record heat numbers at final assembly.
Create PPAPs, PFMEA, ITP, Control plans and other customer requirements
Work closely with Operations and Project Management with Customer Inspections and requirements
Perform final dimensional check of completed vessels.
Inspect final shipping preparations and green tag if acceptable.
Record all required inspection activities on the traveler (MIT), or other suitable document.
Maintain, Develop, Expand and Execute programs including ISO, ASME, and many others.
Work with Multi-Billion Dollar companies on shared quality/vendor of record programs
Additional responsibilities
a. Review contract documents for applicable requirements, prepare TCR/Contract requirement list.
b. Inspect/witness hydro testing of ASME units.
c. Prepare/sign data reports (U-1’s, U-2’s) for ASME vessels.
d. Inspect oxygen cleaning as required.
e. Prepare/enter rejection reports as required.
f. Review conflicts/problems with Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, etc. as applicable.
g. Organize and file shipped contract folders.
h. Calibrate measuring/test equipment.
i. Work with customer inspectors as required.
j. Prepare folder for AI review.
k. Process MTRS and document packages.
l. Inspect alignment and dimensional accuracy of components, prior to welding.
m. Verify/document trace code markings of materials used in construction.
n. Monitor and document welder performance testing and verify qualifications and stamping of welds.
o. Inspect parts for final release in the grind shop.
p. Complete and Review the Welders’ continuity log bi-monthly and forward to Team Leader/Quality Manager
Required Qualifications:
4 Year Engineering Degree
7 years prior experience in Quality Control required.
Certified VT and/or PT Level I.
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
Must have experience preparing and working with detailed documentation.
Experience with non-destructive examination (NDE)
Ability to lift and move product up to 50lbs as well as use overhead crane.
Strong mechanical aptitude skills
Basic geometry, algebra, mathematic and report writing skills required
Familiar with fabrication drawings, multiple welding, NDE processes and interpersonal communication skills
Must have the ability to work with minimal direction and prioritize daily tasks
Computer program proficiency, i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
· Union environment experience.
· Certified VT and/or PT Level II.
· Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Div. 1
Pay Range: Min $60,000 - Max $80,000
