Your Opportunity
Stantec’s New England Transportation group has an immediate need for a highly motivated Senior Transportation Design Manager with 15 years of experience working on mid-size to large roadway/highway/bridge design projects. This position is flexible between our Burlington MA office and remote work. Our Burlington MA office at Blue Sky Center offers unrivaled amenities including an on-site fitness center, walking paths, secure bicycle storage, indoor and outdoor courts and games, golf simulator, café, and EV charging stations. The office is close to the Burlington Mall and Routes 3, 62 and 128 with ample on-site parking and plenty of lunch options nearby. Other regional office locations include Boston MA and Auburn, NH. This is an excellent opportunity to pursue and manage progressive engineering projects of varying scale and complexity in Massachusetts and throughout New England. You will oversee pursuits, technical employees, work planning, technical design management and oversight, project delivery, quality management, contract administration, change management, and risk management. Your Key Responsibilities
Contribute to initiatives to help advance our project design, operations, and business development
Maintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider
Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards
Lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services
Represent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leader
Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives. Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management
Grow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent to join our team
Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities
Establish, maintain, and promote partnerships in project pursuits
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Experience
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience on mid to large scale transportation projects
Experience with the role of deputy design manager, design manager, and or quality manager on mid to large scale projects
Experience leading the design and construction support of complex transportation projects
Experience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
Business development experience required
Marketing skills required
Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environment
Design-Build or other alterative project delivery experience
Education and Credentials
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field. Post graduate degree preferred
MA Licensed Professional Engineer
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work. #northeastroadway
