Job Title: Process Development Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with multiple departments to create and revise procedural documentation related to general quality system processes, with a focus on manufacturing processes.

• Implement process failure modes and effects analysis (PFMEA) and measurement system analysis to confirm inspection capability.

• Facilitate connection of project teams to the quality system by helping teams understand quality systems requirements and set up project data for long-term execution and monitoring.

• Perform risk assessments to prioritize corrective and mitigating actions related to product safety, including execution of PFMEA on existing and emerging processes.

• Independently perform internal quality system audits and audits of special processes.

• Undertake special projects as assigned by Quality Management.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable work experience of three (3) to five (5) years in a manufacturing quality role, preferably in aerospace.

• Advanced understanding of risk analysis techniques, including PFMEA.

• Understanding of machining and inspection processes with proven ability to implement and sustain statistical process controls.

• Knowledge of AS9100 and AS13100 Quality Standard requirements.

• Familiarity with 14CFR Part 21 and Part 145 requirements (preferred).

• Proven ability in written communication, including technical writing and presentations.

• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

• Experience with ERP and MES products, with IFS and/or Solumina preferred.

• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Quality systems experience/inspection/audits.

• Prefer aerospace industry experience.

• Knowledge and familiarity with FAA regulations.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at the manufacturing/assembly plant in Burlington, NC, within a climate-controlled office environment. The role may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, and safety shoes are necessary. Some travel is expected for supplier audits (3-5 trips per year).
