Overview

We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a driven Medical Assistant to join our hard working Cancer Clinic at our Burnsville, MN location! This position is approved for 64 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible position. This position also qualifies for a $4000 sign on bonus . We believe the hours for this position will be: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday 8:00-4:30, Thursday will be off.

Responsibilities Job Description

The Medical Assistant/MA supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team supporting the needs of the healthcare team and patients/support network. The MA will collect information and documents to support the patient visit. MA's are responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures and practice guidelines, promoting cohesion with all members of team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.

  • Delivers care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN, to assigned population, or individual patient. Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences. Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served. Individualizes plan of care to meet patients needs.

  • Prioritizes work based on patients acuity, available resources, patients preferences, provider schedule, in collaboration with the authorized practitioner and other team members.

  • Performs high and low risk technical procedures defined by the clinical setting includes medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures and may include lab draws.

  • Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patient. Responds appropriately to emergent situations. Ensures a safe, secure environment.

  • Communicates verbal and written information in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner. Uses communication approaches appropriate to patients needs

  • Respect and ensures the confidentiality of all information regarding patients, staff members or Fairview business issues. Shares information only with those who need to know.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN is required.

  • Basic Life Support Certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ambulatory Care Experience is preferred.

  • AAMA Certification is preferred.
