NORTHWESTERN ENERGY Markets & Optimization Analyst in BUTTE, Montana
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or comparable field preferred or equivalent years of related experience
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to show initiative and work independently without close supervision
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to read, interpret and apply complex market tariffs, standards and procedures
- Ability to work effectively with groups and teams to accomplish organizational goals
- Demonstrated ability to represent NorthWestern Energy appropriately in public meetings and processes
- Ability to travel up to 10% as required
- Ability to pass a drug test and a background check
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Administrate and Execute the Western Resource Adequacy Program ("WRAP") for NorthWestern
- Provide analysis on the Western Energy Imbalance Market ("EIM"), Extended Day-ahead Market ("EDAM"), and other market initiatives
- Represent NorthWestern on working groups and committees related to markets and regional initiatives
- Develop expertise on design issues related to markets and other regional initiatives
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis related to regional market initiatives
- Develop and maintain working relationships with staff at peer organizations, markets and regional programs
- Develop and maintain internal reporting related to NorthWestern Energy's market activity as needed
- Develop analysis as needed for other aspects of Energy Supply activity
- Understand and support compliance with regulatory requirements related to regional markets and initiatives
- Assist in the development of asset optimization strategies for Montana and South Dakota resources to efficiently meet customer needs
- Adhere to company safety standards
- Comply with Northwestern's Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.
$54,000 - $121,800 annually, depending on experience.
