SUMMARY:
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on egress systems. Removes and installs egress systems. Ensures egress explosive cartridge activated devices (CAD) and pressure activated devices (PAD) are safe and disarmed prior to performing maintenance supporting aircraft inducted into the Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements maintenance and safety policies for egress systems.
Responsible for maintaining all necessary egress and egress equipment on inducted F-16 aircraft
Ensure pilot ejection systems are precisely maintained in perfect working condition
Perform removal, inspection, and reinstallation of F-16 ejection seat, components, and sub-components
Troubleshoot, test, and repair, if necessary, F-16 ejection systems
Perform operation checkouts, ensuring systems reliability
Replace, as required, egress system components and sub-components found faulty or supporting aircraft TCTOs
Use various testers required to test egress electrical system reliability and functionality
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Desired: Completed Technical or Military School Training
4 Years related experience on USAF fighter aircraft.
Must have experience with working from blueprint drawings, diagram, specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and other incomplete data.
PREFERRED
F-16 or related fighter aircraft Egress System USAF 7 – Level
Current FAA issued Mechanic certificate with Airframe
Ability to work in an austere environment and to perform work in a hangar or aviation field environment
WORK CONDITIONS:
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed in a hangar, office setting, or aviation field environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must be able to obtain a medical clearance required for the location.
