Render Security Engineering Flight Operations Intern in California, Maryland

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive UAS Flight Operations Intern to join our dynamic team. This role will provide critical support for Navy and Marine Corps customers by ensuring the smooth execution of UAS operations and assisting with document management. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in aerospace or related fields, with a passion for learning in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This position offers hands-on experience and mentorship opportunities in UAS flight operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning and logistics for UAS flight operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and military requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all UAS-related work assignments.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes for flight operation products, with a focus on Navy and Marine Corps unmanned systems.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and reviewing flight manuals for unmanned systems, working under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Monitor UAS flight tracking and manage flight view systems to maintain operational awareness.
  • Accurately document and log flight times in accordance with military standards.
  • Provide support to other technical teams as needed and gain exposure to various aspects of UAS operations.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support and maintain safe UAS flight operations.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelors Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math-related field.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Willingness to participate in detachments and engage directly with flight operations in the field.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment under limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
