Eaton’s IS AER ITD Aerospace Interconnect division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Production Leader-Second Shift - High Performance Work Leader.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105225.03 - $154330.04 a year.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Directs and coordinates second shift activities of the Focus Factory in processing materials or manufacturing products in the organization by performing the following duties personally or through High Performance work team members. Primary responsibility to set tasks and priorities for High Performance work teams; provide technical support, analysis, and guidance of design, manufacturing, customer/contract support, and procurement. Manage the production operations budget for the cost of labor. Track and manage production levels and deliveries to plan. Proactively manage safety, 5S, scrap, rework, delivery, cost and WIP. Manage environment and training to eliminate hazards and accidents. Maintain morale to ensure positive employee relations. Supervise direct and indirect employees.

What you’ll do:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Manage the daily activities of all second shift employees. Maintain adequate metrics to ensure levels if performance is known and improved upon.

B. Manage and direct area in achieving operational targets & objectives.

C. Communicate and demonstrate the Eaton best practices, ethics, values, and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization.

D. Support Eaton MESH (Management of Environment Safety & Health) through ownership of the MESH elements.

E. Identify and implement methods and practices to achieve steady improvement in efficiency, quality, service, and continuous improvement in operating profits.

F. Assist in the creation of training plans and programs and promote cross-training opportunities.

G. Promote a Quality, Safety and Continuous Improvement culture by demonstrating ownership and accountability throughout the supported value streams.

H. Coordinate execution of manufacturing schedules and priorities within the production plan to satisfy customer requirements.

I. Ensure appropriate quality processes and tools are in place and being utilized consistently, facilitating training as appropriate.

J. Be responsible for ensuring that Environmental, Health, and Safety are included as part of everyday activities.

K. Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.

L. Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

M. Prepare operational schedule and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

N. Review production and operating reports to assess performance indicators and take appropriate action to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

O. Reduce cost of operations by implementing Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Continuous Improvement. Initiate Kaizen events as necessary to achieve best in class operations.

P. Confer with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.

Q. Manages and directs all production activities and establish production priorities to team members.

R. Evaluates operational performance of the group to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.

S. Develops budgets and resource plans, and monitors performance, to achieve product delivery and cost requirements.

* This role requires working on-site M-F at our Camarillo, California location. Relocation is not available for this role. Typical daily second shift- work hours are from 2/3 pm to 11:30 pm.

Qualifications:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university.

• Minimum three (3) years of Manufacturing Operations including Labor, Budgets, Deliverables, Cost-out Project experience.

• 2+ years of experience Leading manufacturing production teams.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

• Relocation is not available for this role, candidates must reside within 50 miles of Camarillo , California.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related Engineering field.

• Previous experience within Aerospace sector

• 5+ years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Understanding of human resources skills such as interviewing and hiring, performance management, policies & procedures definition, interpretation and implementation, sound health & safety practices and basic labor laws such as FLSA, EEO, FMLA, ADA.

• Leadership experience in high accountability culture and metrics driven environment.

• Experience with lean tools, continuous improvement or project management.

• Experience in a high mix / low-volume manufacturing environment.

• Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.

• Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.

• Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management.

• Work extended hours, when necessary, to complete a task.
