Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to flexibly adapt to changes in priorities; ability to work calmly under deadline pressure, work both independently and as a team member, take initiative; and follow projects through to completion.

Diplomatic skills, comfort in interacting with prominent individuals, and grace under pressure are essential.

Additional Information:This is a full-time appointment starting as soon as possible, (start date flexible) through June 30, 2025.

This is a hybrid position which we consider to be a combination of remote and onsite work at our Boston, MA based campus. HBS expects all staff to be onsite 3 days per week and departments provide onsite coverage Monday – Friday. Specific hours and days onsite will be determined by business needs and are subject to change with appropriate advanced notice.

The RA will work closely with a faculty member in the Entrepreneurial and General Management Units, to support the FIELD Global Capstone first-year, required curriculum (RC), MBA course.

The successful candidate will work on the development and delivery of new cases, notes, and related materials for the academic year. This is a terrific opportunity for those interested in leadership, teaming, and strategy, while helping to prepare our MBA students for their future roles as leaders. Ideal candidates will also have an interest in international affairs, diverse cultures, globalization, and exploring global business trends.

The RA will report directly to a faculty supervisor and an administrative manager in the Research Staff Services office. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in an environment that requires a high level of independence, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to use discretionary judgment.

Primary Duties:

  • Research and develop course content, create new cases and materials, expand and improve upon existing materials including country cases, course notes, and city descriptions under the general direction of the Faculty.

  • Research and suggest ways to implement concepts/skills practice from the other RC courses to enhance the course’s ability to perform as a capstone to the first year of the program in close coordination with the Faculty. Produce materials illustrating the linkages between the capstone and the other RC courses.

  • Work closely with the Global Research Centers on course materials (typically case writing) and keep MBA Global Experience Office (GEO) updated on these activities to ensure clear lines of communication across HBS partners.

  • Work with MBA Program to effectively utilize and implement AI tools in support of the course development and student learning.

  • Collaborate with the Baker Library and GEO teams to manage the collection and analysis of industry and macroeconomic data on FIELD Global Capstone locations to inform student assignments.

  • Connect faculty course head and the GEO team with country-specific resources and individuals across the University to maximize the success of program.

  • Develop reports on Harvard & HBS’s ongoing presence in each FIELD Global Capstone location (e.g., HBS and Harvard alumni clubs, alumni presence, faculty from the region, faculty focused on the region, other Harvard schools’ activities in the region, Harvard events in the region, etc.) to inform faculty and GEO team’s engagements in the course locations.

  • Benchmark peer institution activities in FIELD Global Capstone locations and regions for the course head and GEO leadership.

  • Act as project manager to manage the timeline of deliverables and serve as a thought partner to the Faculty course head.

  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.
