Prestage Maintenance Supervisor (Nights) in Camden, South Carolina
General:
The maintenance supervisor directs, oversees, and drives the day-to-day mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and PM activities of the plant’s operations. The position works closely with operations & sanitation leadership, the maintenance lead(s) and multi-craft mechanics to ensure maintenance work and projects are assigned, parts & tools are available, and training / knowledge is shared among the entire team. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager. The primary work schedule is M-F, night shift, with flexibility to work early/ late shift, short-notice overtime, and weekends, as needed.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
Work closely with maintenance & operations leadership to supervise and oversee the most efficient & effective day-to-day operation & maintenance of plant processing resources
Ensure team approaches each assignment with “safety first” & “quality/compliant work” mindset
Keep team focused on priorities; Exercise a willingness to assist with troubleshooting, repairs & PM’s; ensure team knowledge-share & cross-training
Partner w/ parts room team to secure parts inventory for repairs, PM’s & routine maintenance
Master knowledge, use & train others on work-order system – (Manager Plus); Drive tracking & accuracy of records for PM’s/ repairs
Lead mechanics to ensure good housekeeping, organized, clean, and safe work space/ parts storage
Work to establish timely and open communication with team, operations, managers, and suppliers
Invest high level of time in process area / on production floor/ lead by example
Other duties as assigned by Manager
Requirements
Education:
GED (Min.); Associates degree (preferred / not required)
Mechanical or Electrical coursework / certificate (preferred)
Leadership training/development
Experience:
Min. of 3 years’ supervisory or lead operator experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance OR related field
Skills/Abilities/Attributes:
Min. 3 yrs. Supervisory experience & working-knowledge of electrical & mechanical systems
Solid understanding of electrical code and regulations
Strong leadership & problem-solver with ability to positively influence and drive team’s performance
Self-directed; able to work in fast-paced environment with multiple priorities;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with various levels;
Physical Requirements:
Lift / move up to 40 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop up to 10 hrs./shift
Work safely in varying conditions –hot, cold, wet; e.g., 35-40 / 100 degrees
Exposure to low and high voltage equipment & systems
