Thompson Health Lead Patient Registration Rep in Canandaigua, New York

Full time - Days/Evenings/Weekends/Holidays
Main Function:
Performs all functions of an Emergent Registration Representative as well as assists the Manager in providing support to the Emergent Registration associates in the Emergency Room and Urgent Care Center during their shift.
Assumes responsibility for the daily department operations during shift.
Serves as a point of contact for answering questions and helping to solve problems identified by the Emergent Registration team.
Services as a point of contact during shift for associates to communicate any scheduling issues or changes that arise.
Coordinates and completes the monthly staffing schedule for all shifts to ensure proper coverage on all shifts.
Provides input to Manager for associate performance evaluations.
Performs daily/weekly/monthly regulatory and compliance audits assigned and reports audit findings to ensure all state and federal requirements are being met by all Emergent Registration associates.
Provides outstanding service to all patients, visitors, internal and external customers.
Demonstrates a positive and professional image at all times
Ensures that accurate patient demographic and insurance information is received and verified to assure timely billing and proper reimbursement.
Requirements
Exhibits leadership skills in communication, team building, process improvement, development of responsibility through delegation of activity, and promoting registration efficiencies. • Demonstrates skills in communication and prioritizing assignments.
Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with all department team members, emergency and urgent care center medical/clinical staff and other health care associates both internally and externally.
Ability to use good judgment to address associate concerns and questions in the absence of the Manager.
Ability to bring issues to the attention of the Manager timely.
Exhibits the appropriate level of decision making to ensure the department runs smoothly in the absence of the Manager.
Model and reinforce excellent customer service
Maintains a high level of understanding in the registration process, including regulations and compliance.
Education:
Associates Degree preferred or 3-5 year work related experience required.
Medical terminology is desired.
Experience:
Excellent history of public/ patient relations and strong communication skills is required.
2 - 3 years of previous ED or UCC registration experience desired.
3 - 5 years of previous secretary/ clerical medical office experience desired.
Pay Range: $17.85 - $22.05 per hour
Starting Pay: Based on Experience
