AWS South Africa is seeking a Business Analyst with EE & SD experience to join our team. In this crucial role, you will leverage your expertise to analyze diversity and skills development data from multiple sources. This will involve verifying the accuracy and integrity of the data, identifying outliers and trends, and uncovering best practices as well as potential risks. You will be responsible for translating this data into meaningful reports tailored for various levels across the organization.

This role will be instrumental in fulfilling our statutory reporting requirements, including the preparation of EE Reports, Workplace Skills Plans (WSP), and Annual Training Reports (ATR), Social and Ethics (SoE) reporting, as well as Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) Reports. You will also support us in navigating audits conducted by government agencies such as the Department of Employment and Labour. Effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams will be essential to your success in this role.

The ability to access, analyze, and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data is critical. You must also demonstrate the skills to identify and mitigate risks, anticipate and address potential bottlenecks, address stakeholder concerns, and make informed tradeoffs.

Key job responsibilities

• Analyze and aggregate complex data from various sources to identify trends, outliers, and actionable insights

• Ensure accurate and compliant legislative reporting including EE, WSP, ATR, Kings IV, BCEA, and COIDA Reports

• Provide data-driven recommendations to support the design and implementation of impactful transformation programs

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure diversity data is leveraged effectively across the organization

• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and legislative requirements related to SD and EE reporting

• Assist in the development of data visualization tools and dashboards to enhance transparency and accountability

• Perform regular system audits to ensure complete and accurate reporting of data/metrics

• Support with ad hoc compliance requests as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• At least five years relevant work experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Human Resources (with specialization in Employment Equity), or a related field

• Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques, including Excel, and data visualization software

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills Development Facilitator certification

• Demonstrable data cleaning, preparation and data mining experience

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience on Employment Equity or Skills Development legislation, including preparation and submission of Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports.

• Demonstrable ability to draft and present detailed reports

• Demonstrable experience working with various levels of leaders whilst managing multiple and simultaneous competing priorities.
