Job Title: Medical Device Assembly Technician
Job Description
As a Medical Device Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for running machines, inspecting parts, and using tools to assemble medical devices. You will adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Line Clearance, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, production drawings, Good Documentation Practices, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety requirements. You will also complete training on production tasks, understand travelers/routers, identify materials, and use microscopes and other production/inspection tools and equipment needed for product builds.
Responsibilities
Operate tools and equipment, and complete documentation as required.
Perform equipment set-up, operation, and in-process inspection to accomplish assigned tasks.
Work directly with Engineers and Supervisors to ensure product integrity and quality.
Collaborate with Engineers to develop process documentation.
Perform inventory counts.
Adhere to verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Line Clearance, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, production drawings, Good Documentation Practices, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety requirements.
Essential Skills
Experience with microscope assembly and inspection.
Knowledge of catheter assembly.
Strong communication skills.
Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Line Clearance.
Experience working with adhesives and EFD dispensers.
Understanding of UV curing systems.
Experience in a cleanroom and production environment.
Knowledge of medical device manufacturing operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in medical device assembly and production or small electronics.
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment or prototyping experience.
Experience in catheter product manufacturing is a plus.
Ability to use required safety equipment when performing lab work.
Prior experience with microscope and medical assembly.
Prior cleanroom experience.
Ability to understand and perform in-process inspection to assure workmanship and quality of in-process medical devices.

Work Environment
This position requires working in a cleanroom environment. There is 1 opening on the 1st shift and 1 on the 2nd shift (training will be on the 1st shift for 4 weeks, duration may vary depending on the candidate).
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
