Job Title: Production Manager

Job Description

Supervise production activities for reagents and consumables. Contribute to the development of production processes and continuous improvement of the manufacturing lines.

Hard Skills

  • Manage production requests, identify required resources, plan production activities, generate documentation, assign work to operator(s), and execute work orders.

  • Supervise the work of hourly manufacturing personnel, the manufacturing processes, procedures, and maintain adequate floor control.

  • Set goals, identify areas of development, monitor performance, provide feedback, and determine the required actions for direct reports.

  • Ensure personnel working in controlled areas maintain compliance with our quality management system, safety standards, and policies.

  • Directly communicate with all personnel responsible for manufacturing the product to ensure production requirements are met.

  • Conduct weekly audits of production areas, manufacturing documentation, and production processes to ensure continued compliance.

  • Continuously monitor, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPI) for processes related to manufacturing.

  • Create graphs, charts, diagrams of KPIs for a wider, non-technical audience and present results.

  • Write/revise documentation that enables improved control and efficiency of manufacturing and operations processes.

  • Participate in continuous improvement of manufacturing processes that maximize yields, lead time, inventory control, and cost savings.

  • Support new product introductions and validation activities. Ensure proposed work is aligned with manufacturing capabilities.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in CARLSBAD, California.

Work Environment

Lab, Clean room, manufacturing (small scale)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field preferred

• Five (5) years of manufacturing experience with at minimum three (3) years of experience as a lead or supervisor

• Independently perform basic chemical calculations such as dilutions, concentrations, batch scaling, etc.

• Able to read, write and converse fluently in English.

• Knowledge of FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practice

• Experience in medical devices or pharmaceutical environment is preferred.

• Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office
