Carlsbad LifeHouse Inc Community Response Paramedic in Carlsbad, New Mexico

Qualifications for the position include but are not limited to:
- Paramedic license in the State of New Mexico. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Salary:$30.00 per hour
Reporting Supervisor:Clinical Crisis Director
Duties:
- Respond to and manage calls or requests for assistance specifically related to mental health crises.
- Document interactions using EMR-Bear system.
- Conduct continuous assessments of individuals in crisis, determining the need for immediate medical intervention.
- Monitor clients within the crisis services facility throughout their stay.
- Supervise Med Techs in vital signs measurement and medication distribution.
- Communicate urgent client needs with the Charge Nurse or on-call provider.
- Manage stock medications, order client and stock medications from the facility pharmacy.
- Conduct controlled medication counts with Med Techs each shift for accuracy.
- Coordinate outside appointments for clients, ensuring transportation and attendance, including laboratory appointments.
- Provide education on medications, diet, and healthy lifestyle choices to clients and staff.
- Collaborate with the Charge Nurse, Medical Director, or other leadership for additional responsibilities.
- Only RNs are authorized for IV push medication administration. May require team-lifting up to 75 pounds when necessary.
Employment Hours:
- As needed - Sunday through Saturday, 12-hour shifts, 5:30am - 5:30pm
