POSITION PURPOSE
Assists the Flight Training Manager in developing, maintaining and administering all company pilot training and pilot qualification programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Ensures that all training programs are formulated and administered in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and the company’s Advanced Qualification Program (AQP).
Coordinates training activities with Training Coordination, Training Logistics, Crew Scheduling, Crew Support, and Crew Planning
Utilizes the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and applicable AQP Volumes when evaluating a pilot’s progress in a training program to determine appropriate next step(s).
Coordinates Initial, Upgrade, Continuing Qualification, and Requalification training.
Ensures the Initial, Upgrade, and Continuing Qualification training of all pilots is completed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Runs various reports to monitor and maintain pilot qualifications.
Updates and maintains Initial and Upgrade Qualification student data in Training Management System (TMS).
Audits Pilot Training Records to ensure compliance with FARs and company policies and procedures.
Assists the Flight Training Manager with hiring and training of Flight Qualification Administrators.
Monitors the professional development and maintains records of developmental training for administrative staff.
Complies with the company’s AQP policies and procedures. Maintains knowledge of current revision of each AQP Volume.
Maintains pilot training records, both internal and for the FAA PRD.
Applies and implements training requirements in accordance with the CBA.
Assists the Flight Training Manager in maintaining the Training Managers Manual and the Flight Qualification Administration team’s Department Manual.
Assists the Flight Training Manager in moderating Training Review Boards (TRBs) for pilots covered under the CBA and handling new hire pilot separations.
Assists the Flight Training Manager in performing FAA-required Facility Audit(s).
Manages Training Department projects and initiatives as assigned.
Fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.
Performs various other job duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A / B.S) or equivalent in Aviation or related field or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years of aviation industry experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, as well as leadership and team building skills.
Ability to perform high-level decision making and goal setting within strict time constraints.
Intermediate knowledge and experience with Fox and other aviation-related software systems as required.
Intermediate experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating.
Experience with both Aviation classroom and 14 CRF Part 121 airline training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or other associates.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

WORK SCHEDULE
The Assistant Manager of Flight Training will primarily work Sunday-Thursday, with Friday/Saturday off.
The Assistant Manager of Flight Training will participate in a rotation of Flight Training Managers who monitor department communications after hours and acts or responds appropriately.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel.
