POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for overseeing and performing a variety of duties to support the maintenance team and ensure the timely and efficient repair of all equipment and facilities used at the Job Challenge Program (JCP). This role includes managing the repair workload, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and participating in both short and long-term planning for JCP projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Repair and Maintenance Oversight:

  • Supervise and perform maintenance duties on all equipment and facilities used at JCP, ensuring repairs are completed promptly and efficiently.

  • Perform journeyman-level work in urgent situations, resolving issues swiftly.

  • Select the most appropriate course of action for repairs and determine when to outsource repairs beyond local capabilities.

    Record Keeping and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records, including work orders, time sheets, and maintenance reports.

  • Compile data and maintain detailed maintenance logs, ensuring that all equipment is up-to-date and in working condition.

  • Track labor and material costs, including providing cost estimates for repairs and maintenance

  • activities.

    Inventory Management:

  • Perform monthly inventory checks of parts and supplies.

  • Maintain the current status of all parts and request necessary supplies and equipment.

  • Track and complete 101’s for all parts, including turning in invoices and ensuring proper inventory control.

    Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA and safety standards.

  • Oversee safety measures related to maintenance work, ensuring that all safety equipment is worn and safety protocols are followed.

  • Report any violations or deficiencies in safety practices and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Team Collaboration and Communication:

  • Actively communicate with team members, staff, and other supervisors to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues.

  • Participate as a key member of the management team in planning short- and long-term projects for JCP.

  • Engage in safety and educational training as required, ensuring the team is equipped with the

  • necessary knowledge to perform tasks safely.

General Maintenance:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks as needed across various areas of the JCP.

  • Inspect and ensure compliance with CMTS and facility standards for all completed maintenance work.

Other Duties:

  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Continuously work to improve efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience in maintenance or a related field.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and manage workflows to meet established

deadlines and objectives.

• Ability to perform mechanical and technical tasks at a journeyman level.

• Ability to operate heavy equipment (forklift, etc.)

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure during urgent situations.

• Experience with inventory management and cost tracking.

Work Environment:

• Must be willing to work in a physically demanding environment and adhere to all safety standards.

• May be required to work beyond regular hours in emergencies or urgent situations.

Required Certifications/Training:

• Relevant certifications or equivalent work experience.

• Safety training as required by JCP and OSHA standards.

GENERAL: Must have a valid Driver’s License, Social Security Card and Birth Certificate. Must qualify to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) Card. Periodic travel may be required. Must be available to report to duty during emergency or disaster situations. Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with agency personnel, peers, superiors, subordinates and the public.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must meet physical requirements to perform functions of the position. Must attend/complete all LMD annual training and other training required for the position. Must adhere to the Code of Ethics and foster a Sexual Harassment-Free Environment.
