General Purpose
Develops engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the planning, and design documents. Curates, collects and analyzes data from over 1,100 wind turbine generators. Compiles collected information to assess the health of turbine major components and to improve the reliability and availability of the fleet.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, process, or facilities to support company objectives, utilizing engineering methods.
• Develop performance models to maximize energy production and turbine availability. This task will require utilizing a variety of data repositories and modeling software, including but not limited to: MS SQL DB’s, PI Data Historians, Wind Turbine SCADA Systems, R Studio, Python.
• Act as data architect for asset inventory databases and PI Asset Framework models to facilitate PacifiCorp’s transition to Asset Performance Management (APM) and to improve field operations efficiency.
• Develop highly complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.
• Determine methods and techniques for obtaining results.
• Act as a lead/expert in the work group; train and mentor associate and career level engineers, technicians and drafters.
• Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management to meet business needs.
• Deliver on commitments and manage outside engineering services to accomplish the assigned work.
• Maintain project timelines and budgets.
• Analyze and design engineering methods.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college/university.
• A minimum of five or more years of experience in industrial power systems or electric utility power systems, or related professional experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty.
• Project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
• Understanding of company’s business, and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
• Experience improving production efficiency and asset reliability in energy resources.
• Experience with data architecture and data repositories including SQL databases, OSI PI Historians, and SCADA Clients.
• Engineering experience specific to wind generation and asset performance management and data analytics.
• Familiarity with wind turbine major component management including blades, generators, gearboxes, and bearings.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
• Ability to travel/drive to field locations.
• Proficient with the use of personal computers including automated tools.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15.00% of salary.
