Position Summary

 

This position is expected to leverage previous project management work experience/education to provide comprehensive support to Principal Investigators (PIs) in managing their sponsored projects (i.e., grants). They will work closely with the SPARC office to maintain training on federal and sponsor requirements, while providing PIs with direct support on grants management activities.

 

Essential Functions

 

• Assist Principal Investigators in developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for assigned sponsored programs.

 

• Coordinate closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout project execution.

 

• Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports, including reconciliation for financial statements, progress updates, and impact assessments, in accordance with grant requirements.

 

• Monitor project performance, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.

 

• Allocate resources effectively across multiple projects, balancing priorities and deadlines to meet grant obligations.

 

• Maintain up to date knowledge on federal, state, and institutional policies. Work with the SPARC team to gain an in-depth knowledge understanding of research administration. Share project progress with the SPARC team.

 

• Additional Duties as Assigned.

 

Education & Experience

 

Minimum:

 

• Bachelor's Degree (or combination of education and work experience) in Business Administration, Research Administration, or Other Related Field.

 

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

 

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build effective partnerships.

 

• Proficiency in project management tools, budgeting software, and Microsoft Office suite.

 

• Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

 

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information ethically.

 

Preferred:

 

• Master's Degree (Business Administration, Public Administration, Research Administration, or Other Related Field).

 

• Understanding of grant compliance, regulations, and reporting requirements, with a track record of delivering high-quality reports within deadlines.
