Position Summary

The Facilities Assistant provides service to the Utah Shakespeare Festival through the repair and maintenance of Utah Shakespeare Festival facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Essential Functions

• Assist in providing maintenance and repair to USF housing and other facilities.

• Assist with maintenance, pre-checks, and other tasks relative to the USF vehicle

• Assist in grounds maintenance including lawn care, hedge and tree trimming, weed-eating, edging, and cleaning of outdoor debris.

• Assist with setup of furniture, signs, umbrellas, banners, and other venue items as directed

• Maintain communication about tasks with relevant USF and SUU employees.

• Other duties as assigned

• Safety related tasks

• Attend meetings as requested

• SUU Work order follow up

• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.

• Self-motivated, willing to take direction, and ability to contribute to long range planning.

• Must have good working skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and basic computer navigation

• Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously

• Ability to work in collaboration with colleagues and willingness to do physical labor

Education & Experience

Minimum requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in maintenance and/or facilities management

• Bachelor's degree

• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, sheetrock, tile installation, painting, appliance repair and some HVAC preferred

• Able to operate a wide variety of equipment including trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, fork lifts, other lifts, power tools and grounds equipment
