J ob Summary: Are you experienced in asbestos abatement and committed to safety? Join our team at Gulf Coast Industrial in Colorado as an Abatement Technician. You'll be pivotal in identifying, assessing, and safely removing asbestos materials from various sites. Your expertise in abatement procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation will contribute to the success of our projects. Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage construction crews, overseeing operations across construction, Safely remove, handle, and dispose of asbestos materials using proper techniques and protective gear.

2. Be highly productive and knowledgeable in the removal of asbestos insulation and related materials.

3. Maintain cleanliness at the jobsite by disposing of trash and unused materials.

4. Utilize cutting methods, including hand tools and powered equipment.

5. Manage hazardous waste in accordance with regulations.

6. Maintain annual certification by a certified trainer for at least 8 hours to meet environmental regulations.

7. Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies related to asbestos abatement.

8. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in asbestos abatement preferred.

2. Proven experience as an Asbestos Technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of regulations and abatement techniques.

3. Familiarity with inspection, sampling, and testing procedures, including specialized equipment.

4. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and AHERA guidelines.

5. Understanding of containment protocols, decontamination procedures, and PPE requirements.

6. Physical stamina and ability to work in hazardous environments with appropriate protective gear.

7. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
