PDS Tech Commercial is searching for a skilled Mechanical/Structural Design Engineer to join our cutting-edge R&D team on an innovative and high-impact project. You’ll play a pivotal role in transforming a four-passenger aircraft into an unmanned, hybrid-electric vehicle, pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology. About the Role:

As a Mechanical/Structural Design Engineer , you will lead the design and modification of a production aircraft, transforming it into an unmanned, hybrid-electric-powered vehicle. You will be responsible for designing critical components, contributing to prototype development, and collaborating with a team of skilled engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Engineering degree, minimum of ten years applicable aircraft engineering experience

• Substantial new airplane program design engineering experience

• Ability to quickly lay out new design concepts, prepare design reviews and create prototype engineering dwgs

• Experience designing sheet metal, machined, and 3D printed parts

• Self-Starter, able to work with minimal oversight

• SolidWorks (preferred), Catia V5 (acceptable)

• ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)

Helpful Skills/Experience:

• Previous airframe structural modification experience

• Previous electric or hybrid aircraft experience

• Preliminary stress sizing for design

• Systems Installation experience

• Liaison engineering experience

• Composites design experience

• Hands-on experience/able to help with prototype build

Pay Details: $40.00 to $70.00 per hour
