We are looking for a Maintenance Technician III to join our Performance Materials team in Clemson, SC.

As a Maintenance Technician III for the Clemson Poly Urethane Plant, you will build a meaningful career with the opportunity to improve the overall Maintenance and Reliability of the Central, SC Plant.In this role, you will be responsible for maintenance, repair and installation of industrial mechanical and electrical equipment. This included rotating equipment such as pumps, mixers, compressors, etc. You will also maintain, repair and install stationary equipment such as piping, valves and structures. In this position you will support safety by participating in safety activities and teams on site and utilizing safe practices in all work.

During your 8-hour shift as a Maintenance Technician III, you will

  • Leverage your experience in maintenance, as part of a team responsible for maintenance, repairs, PMs, and installation of both stationary and rotating equipment to improve equipment reliability, improve safety, and minimize production downtime.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, plan, and perform all mechanical & electrical operations necessary to repair, dismantle, and assemble industrial equipment such as of pumps, compressors, mixers, blowers, piping, valves, etc.

  • Perform work in the mechanic’s skill area such as fabrication, assembly, welding, pipefitting, etc.

  • Leverage your skillset with Electrical Equipment, Instruments, & PLCs to effectively carry out repairs while growing and developing the capability of the Maintenance Team.

  • Execute equipment repairs utilizing precision maintenance techniques.

  • Oversee and inspect work completed by outside service vendors to ensure it has been completed satisfactorily and installed/repaired to proper specifications and scope.

  • Assist the Maintenance Planner in writing maintenance plans and PMs as necessary to facilitate continuous improvement in the execution of maintenance work as well as self plan jobs and requisition parts in SAP.

If you...

  • Have a HS Diploma or GED with 5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience or have a 2 year Associate degree from a technical school and 3 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance position.

  • Have 5 years of equipment hands on experience, working in maintenance and repair of pumps, compressors, mixers, blowers, piping, valves, etc.

  • Have hands on experience working on Electrical Equipment and instrument repair/replacement/setup.

  • Can lift up to 50 lbs carrying up to 25 lbs.

  • Are organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize tasks, manage your time, and be self motivated.

  • Are willing and able to work overtime, weekend work when necessary.
