Parsons Engineer and Utility Coordinator

APPLICANTS MUST BE LOCATED NEAR NASHVILLE OR WILLING TO RELOCATE

If you are enthusiastic about engineering and also the exciting and growing fields of Utility Coordination, we have an incredible opportunity for you. Parsons is looking to add a high performing professional to our team to work in our Nashville, TN office. Parsons continues to be a trusted partner with TDOT as we continue to deliver on major projects across the state. This position will assist in engineering, utility coordination, and provide support for our efforts to write TDOT’s utility and SUE manuals and other projects. The position requires an individual who will work collaboratively and yet be an initiative-taker ready to meet project delivery schedules with high quality.

We offer a mix of remote and in-office work opportunities. This position will be based in Nashville and will require in-office work as determined by the department head.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Work with others to understand and meet client expectations and goals

  • Perform complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately

  • Work collaboratively and independently to deliver timely and high-quality project documents

  • Provide technical input for interdisciplinary analytical studies and reports

  • Provide utility coordination services per TDOT’s expectations

  • Provide support for development of TDOT utility and SUE manuals, and support Parson’s utility training efforts regionally

  • Prepare engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs

What Qualifications You'll Bring:

  • Professional Engineer in TN or a state with reciprocity with 4-6 years of experience

  • Demonstrated aptitude in engineering or industry related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience required

  • Solid foundational knowledge of basic software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, ProjectWise, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience interfacing with TDOT is required

  • Demonstrated experience in utility coordination and awareness of ASCE 38 standards for subsurface utility engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on technical writing assignments

Salary Range:

$25.34 - $44.33
