Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support a team of Contract Managers, providing guidance on complex contractual issues, and ensuring that team members develop professionally.
Contract Management: Oversee and manage the negotiation, drafting, and execution of various strategic agreements and contract types, including but not limited to fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, time and materials, and fixed unit price.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to contracts. Identify and mitigate contractual risks and advise on risk management strategies.
Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders, including program managers and legal teams, as well as external clients to ensure alignment on contract terms, expectations, and performance.
Proposal Support: Collaborate with the business development and proposal teams to provide contractual input and support for the preparation, review, and submission of proposals.
Contractual Dispute Resolution: Lead the resolution of contract disputes, claims, and performance issues, negotiating amicable solutions where necessary.
Contract Administration & Reporting: Oversee contract performance and ensure that contractual obligations are met, including monitoring contract deliverables, schedules, and compliance requirements. Ensure accurate reporting on contract status.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of contract management best practices, policies, and tools, ensuring the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
Extensive experience with all contract types in government contracting (e.g., FAR, DFARS, etc.).
Experience with both domestic and international contracts is a plus.
Clearance: Active TS/SCI (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information) clearance is required.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop contract professionals.
In-depth knowledge of federal contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific requirements.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to assess risk and manage complex contractual issues.
Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or similar certifications.
Experience with the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Intel Community (IC) contracting environment is highly desirable.
As this position may require access to classified data and to communicate with customers, this role may require some work to be based out of secure facilities (SCIFs) in Chantilly, VA or Reston, VA. However, there is flexibility to work remotely when SCIF access is not required.

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.
The proposed salary range for this position is:
$86,800-$191,000
