Responsibilities

The IT Support Engineer (ITSE) will embrace the prospect of performing a wide variety of tasks at all levels of complexity – from advanced engineering of future infrastructures to deploying server software to providing low-level user account administrations and user support. The ITSE will be responsible for engineering, implementing, and overseeing all IT infrastructure upgrades, migrating to and maintaining technology services on Microsoft 365 and Azure, maintaining the IT baseline, ensuring compliance with NIST SP 800-171, positioning the company to achieve CMMC certification, and providing day-to-day IT support for users. As the ITSE, your responsibilities would include:

Engineering

  • Design and implement upgrades and migration from legacy infrastructure to a combination of cloud and on-premise services

  • Conduct technical research and provide cost analysis data

  • Recommend and implement the IT migration roadmap

  • Manage Microsoft 365 cloud deployments and licenses

  • Install server software, applications, upgrades, and maintenance patches

  • Ensure network and system security practices comply with NIST SP 800-171 requirements

  • Prepare network and system security practices for CMMC certification

  • Maintain historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions

  • Prepare the corporate network for a multi-office, multi-location architecture

  • Document and maintain corporate network deployment and topology

  • Configure and maintain routers and gateways

  • Monitor security and activity logs and provide periodic reports to the COO

    Support

  • Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions

  • Perform day-to-day system administration functions

  • Manage SharePoint and Exchange applications and configurations

  • Assist users with hardware issues related to desktop computers, printers, scanners, or handheld devices

  • Create IT tickets using ticket-tracking software and update the status of each ticket as they successfully assist each user with their issues

  • Create training materials/references pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technology field is preferred.

  • 3-5 years of experience as an IT Engineer.

  • 3-5 years of experience as an IT Support Specialist.

  • Must have U.S. Citizenship

  • Experience with NIST SP 800-171

  • A combination of certifications to indicate proficiency with Microsoft solutions, networks, and IT security (cybersecurity)

  • Must enjoy user interaction and be able to build rapport with end users

  • May occasionally lift and carry boxes of supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 35-45 lbs. and carry to other locations within the office.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NIST SP 800-171

  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent

  • MCSE or MTA certifications

  • Azure Administrator Associate

  • Azure Security Engineer Associate

  • Security Clearance preferred
