What Youll Do:

The Admissions Intern will report to the Admissions Team Lead and will support the Admissions department with administrative needs and any other task relevant to the selection process of our international teachers. We are looking for an intern who is keen to learn about the international education arena and J-1 cultural exchange programs while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced business environment.

General administrative support:

  • Creating and maintaining files
  • Organizing the file room
  • Preparing, receiving or sending mailings
  • Data entry in Salesforce database
  • Assisting different members of the Admissionsteam as needed

Admissions support:

  • Reviewing and entering teachers application documents
  • Follow up with unresponsive applicants via email or telephone
  • Interview video editing
  • Responding to inquiries via email or telephone
  • Diverse Licensure tasks: printing, scanning, compiling, alphabetizing documents.
  • Reviewing applications submitted for program participation
  • Editing content in the Admissions Community of Practice as required by Team Leads

Hours: 10-15 hours/week

Location: Chapel Hill office

Qualifications

Experience You Bring:

  • Computer skills: MS Office, Google docs/sheets, Excel, etc.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively in a team with high work ethic values.
  • Spanish and/or Mandarin language skills are preferred to communicate with teachers.

About You:

Currently a Junior or Senior seeking a degree in Education, Global/International Studies, Languages or related major.

Passionate about learning and welcoming people from all over the world, learning about their culture and sharing your own culture and experiences.

An active listener and an effective communicator.

Flexible with your time and energy and willing to expand beyond the day-to-day expectations of your work. (And the company reciprocates with flexibility!)
