Job Purpose
The Associate Director of Transfer Admissions is responsible for recruiting undergraduate transfer students and reviewing their applications for admission, with a focus on in-state transfer students from the SC Technical College system and 2-year institutions. Acts as knowledgeable/expert resource for inquiries from various sources regarding the admissions process for transfer students at the College of Charleston. Serves as the liaison between the Registrars Office (particularly the Pre-Transfer Advisor) and the Office of Admissions. Leads a transfer team of two direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree and at least three years of professional work experience in higher education admissions required, preferably with transfer admissions. Masters degree preferred but not required. Required to have a SC drivers license (or the ability to obtain one) and the ability to lift and carry 25-30 lbs. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to represent the institution professionally with a wide range of individuals, including prospective students, colleagues, staff, faculty, and parents. Must be detail oriented and be able to manage multiple deadlines and a high volume workload. Knowledge of best practices in transfer admissions andFERPAregulations helpful. Salesforce/TargetX experience is desirable. Should be highly functional with Microsoft Office, basic databases, and electronic file transfer.
