We have a position open in Charleston, South Carolina for an SUE Field Supervisor to lead and help grow our SUE services. The successful candidate will join us in solving challenging problems in the infrastructure, transportation, and industrial sectors. This position has very high growth potential and is ideally suited for an individual who aspires to a key leadership position with a growing, entrepreneurial company. The primary responsibilities include leading field technicians in the designation and location of utilities, scheduling manpower, and assisting in the production of deliverables. An added benefit of this position is the opportunity to initially train under senior SUE staff for up to 6 months. Training will take place out of our Raleigh, NC office location. Travel will be required. A company truck will be provided and a gas card. Take-home truck is only negotiable.
Responsibilities
Lead field technicians in the designation and location of utilities.
Schedule manpower effectively.
Assist in the production of deliverables.
Direct and perform field utility designation and location on a variety of SUE projects.
Lead and train field personnel.
Manage SUE crews and perform field quality control for all SUE projects.
Apply appropriate principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to various types of SUE projects.
Facilitate professional development of SUE staff.
Perform and document field work and office CAD production for SUE projects.
Prepare results of field work in written and/or electronic format.
Scope, negotiate, and manage SUE projects.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Focus on quality and help ensure QA/QC procedures are followed.
Essential Skills
At least 2-3 years of experience using GPR, Radio Frequency locators, and vacuum excavation equipment.
Working experience with radio-frequency electromagnetic pipe and cable locators and ground penetrating radar (GPR) systems for designating subsurface utilities.
Knowledge of utility investigation techniques utilizing vacuum excavation equipment.
SUE/Survey managerial experience.
Physical strength and endurance to perform field-work.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
SUE experience on South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and other transportation projects a plus.
Computer skills including MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus.
Work Environment
Will be traveling through South Carolina on various projects and potentially North Carolina to assist teams in Raleigh. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00
