Huntington National Bank Corporate Treasury - Financial Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

The Role assists in the management of the Bank’s $40+ billion investment portfolio and derivatives portfolio with a focus on analyzing interest rate hedging strategies while also assisting with analyzing and selecting fixed income investments. The role will support balance sheet activities and MSR portfolio hedging. The ideal candidate will have 2+ experience in fixed income portfolio management and/or a strong academic background in Finance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in portfolio strategy and construction

  • Assist in evaluating relative value opportunities

  • Produce actionable market and economic research to support investment and hedging decisions.

  • Ensure portfolio compliance and corporate governance standards are met

  • Assist in managing portfolio risk

  • In-depth credit and portfolio analysis at the sector and mortgage cohort levels

  • Work jointly with credit and market risk on limit design and calibration

  • Assist in managing portfolio risk

  • Contribute to the development of investment and portfolio management guidelines and strategies, including risk and return objectives, risk and concentration constraints, and regulatory requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in fixed income markets

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA/CFA charter holder

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of credit fundamentals

  • High level of understanding of the rates markets, including interest rate swaps/swaptions/collars/floors.

  • Strong communications/presentation skills

  • Ability to handle complex business problems

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficient in excel/VBA/Python/R

Compensation Range:

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position.
