Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. As an Electrical Engineer, you will design and draft efficient, cost-effective electrical systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, and multifamily projects. You will be responsible for creating AC power distribution systems, lighting designs, fire alarms, and other building support systems. You will also supervise Electrical Designers, coordinate technical project requirements, seal drawings in licensed jurisdictions, and perform energy code compliance analysis and calculations.

Hard Skills

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design of commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, and/or multifamily electrical systems

• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program

• Professional Engineering licensure required with multistate eligibility

• Proficient in writing and editing specifications using the CSI MasterFormat standard

• Proficient in performing due diligence field work

• Proficient in construction administration tasks

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Experience with SKM or similar electrical modeling software is a plus

• AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP experience is a plus

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Able to independently attend project meetings and present engineering assignments

• Able to lead the electrical design effort for assigned projects with minimal supervision

• Able to work well in a team environment

This is a permanent position.

Work Environment

Small office located in south Charlotte, fully in office, 10 people in Charlotte, total firm size around 50-80 people
