Description

The Human Resources Generalist provides strategic and tactical support for the HR Director by performing HR-related duties on a professional level. Exhibits ethical behavior, promotes trust and credibility, prevents legal liability, supports employee well-being, fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion, and enhances organizational reputation. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: full cycle recruitment, affirmative action and employment law compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, and onboarding. Handles confidential information with high integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting by developing and implementing strategies to build a steady pipeline of qualified active and passive candidates.
  • Confer with management to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, basic qualifications, and skills. Write and revise job descriptions.
  • Coordinate internal job posting program. Use diverse recruiting channels, such as job boards, social media, and industry networks, to attract qualified external candidates.
  • Screen and refer internal and external candidates for additional interviews with others in the organization.
  • Assist with EEO-1/AAP/Vet-4212 report data collection; maintain relevant and accurate records, reports, and databases to conform to regulations.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the company.
  • Assist in the administration of benefits, compensation, offer letters, and employee performance programs.
  • Counsels and advises managers and employees on escalation matters related to eligibility and application for leaves of absence, workplace accommodations, and their interaction with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Consistently and correctly update various databases and files on a timely basis.
  • Proactive communication and timely responses to internal and external communication.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with federal and state regulations relating to employment.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Ability to work alone and with others.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; at least three years of human resources or related experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 3-5 years HR Generalist experience preferred. Previous experience with benefits administration and compensation preferred. Previous experience working for a federal contractor/subcontractor is a plus.

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
