University of Virginia Clinical Program Coordinator (RN) - Neuroscience Monitoring in Charlottesville, Virginia
The Neuroscience Monitoring Clinical Program Coordinator is dedicated to the acquisition, clinical operation, inventory oversight and maintenance, and staff and learner training in the use of multi-modal monitoring equipment. The Clinical Program Coordinator functions as a bridge between neuro monitoring technology and care providers, ensuring data is translated into quality clinical information. The Clinical Program Coordinator must keep abreast of the rapidly evolving multiple modalities, devices, data streams, and software for quantitative and qualitative interpretation for advanced neuro monitoring, and effectively spread that knowledge to all appropriate members of the care team. Ensures adherence to UVA Health-University Medical Center’s departmental policies and procedures. Patient population includes, but is not limited to Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups.

Clinical Resource:
Serves as the primary technical and clinical resource for invasive and non-invasive neuromonitoring, including having technical knowledge of equipment function, software interfaces, multimodal data integration, and troubleshooting.
Provides initial and ongoing training/education to nurses, residents, techs, and providers in the use of multimodal monitoring equipment.
Coordinates and/or contributes to the development of practice guiding resources (policies, procedures, guidelines, protocol orders, etc.) effectively utilizing organization interprofessional governance structures.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of current and evolving evidence and best practices related to the clinical program and patient population.
Data Collection, Analysis and Research
Collects, organizes, and maintains accurate patient data for clinical decision making and, when applicable, research efforts relevant to the clinical program or patient population.
Manages and standardizes appropriate elements of monitoring and data collection techniques to ensure high-quality data collection.
Collaborates with the clinical and research teams to provide assistance with special tests and procedures such as ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
Quality Monitoring and Reporting:
Participates in and ensures accurate collection of programmatic data. May include program process measures as well as patient outcome measures.
Reviews and analyzes data to identify trends to ensure program goal achievement.
Responsible for outcomes/data presentation in a variety of venues and formats.
Leads and manages a systemic and coordinated approach to quality measurement and improvement initiatives.
Implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable quality metrics and practice expectations.
Identifies potential and actual risks and appropriately escalates as needed to mitigate or resolve.
Coordination and Collaboration:
Collaborates with subject matter experts as needed to develop understanding of workflows, resources, and pertinent information.
Collaborates with stakeholders in process improvement efforts.
Participates in projects as a subject matter expert.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $71,988.80 - $115,190.40 Annual
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program, Master's degree in related field within 4 years of hire.
Experience: Three years progressive experience and relevant clinical nursing experience required.
Licensure: Must be a registered nurse and currently licensed to practice in the State of Virginia. Specialty Board Certification strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling/bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. Position requires physical capabilities that may include lifting, prolonged standing and walking. Some travel may be required as related to specific responsibilities.
