Safie Specialty Foods Company, Inc Maintenance Supervisor in Chesterfield, Michigan
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for the execution of our preventive and schedule maintenance activities for both building locations and production equipment. The objective is to ensure the plant, warehouse and equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
It is critical that the maintenance technician promotes quality throughout the course of their day demonstrating a genuine interest and actively support quality goals, objectives, and activities. They will work with the maintenance supervisor to drive quality awareness and response into the behavior of the employees performing the work by responding to maintenance issues in a timely fashion, making repairs that require little or no further attention.
Safety
· Recognize safety as our number one priority, identify and resolve safety hazards, and follow all company safety guidelines.
· Ensure all employees, permanent or temporary are wearing appropriate PPE, following safety guidelines, and aware of the proper use of any tools and or equipment.
· Ensure warehouse equipment is operated by licensed employees.
· Ensure warehouse equipment inspections are conducted as required and retain proper documentation.
Maintenance / Manufacturing
· Promote and strive to maintain a positive, supportive culture that is team-centered, including being self-driven, motivated, accepting responsibility, completing assigned work, and participating in our everyday work proactively.
· Serve as a member of the Food Safety Committee, participating in meetings and providing feedback as requested.
· Treat all employees with respect and address employee concerns promptly.
· Safely operate a variety of maintenance tools and equipment.
· Maintain in an orderly fashion the tool and parts storage areas.
· Work with support service vendors and equipment manufacturers.
· Diagnose and repair electronic ignition systems for gas-fired steam kettles.
· Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and piping.
· Request needed materials, repair parts, and supplies.
· Manage equipment sanitation and ensure GMPs and Good Housekeeping practices are upheld in the processing area.
· Prioritize and address equipment and building needs promptly.
· Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance procedures and policies.
· Manage and oversee preventive maintenance activities to ensure compliance to the plan.
· Effectively respond to and communicate maintenance issues to Plant manager.
· Ensure documentation is reviewed and filled out properly.
· Ability to use Micro Soft office to generate memos, letters and reports.
· Recognize report and, if possible, correct any unsafe work conditions.
· Execute tasks with little or no supervision.
