Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Admissions (Communications) is a key member of the admissions team. This position supports and assists in meeting the School\'s enrollment goals through the recruitment of qualified prospective students.

This role provides professional support and solves problems in the implementation and administration of admissions and recruitment strategies, policies, and procedures. Processes admissions applications independently or with guidance from others. Supports recruitment efforts by interviewing and evaluating applicants; supports admissions efforts by selecting applicants for admission and coordinating admissions across the University. May travel and recruit in a specific territory. Counsels students and parents regarding the admissions process.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits for Crown Family School master\'s programs, including responding to and sending e-mails and scheduling and conducting individual phone calls and appointments.
  • Leads recruitment e-mail communication strategy and marketing efforts for prospective applicants, applicants, and admitted students such as updating print materials.
  • Maintains and updates the Admissions website and New Admit Page.
  • Assists with recruitment fair strategy and attends recruitment fairs locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Assists with and participates in recruitment events, including webinars, info sessions, class visits, and campus visits.
  • Oversees Facebook Groups for newly admitted students, including creation, content, and posting.
  • Coordinates with Alumni Association and alumni involvement in recruitment efforts.
  • Assists with PhD recruitment if needed.
  • Participates in application review, decisions, and scholarship awards.
  • Collaborates with Admissions Team to build, update, and maintain policy, practice, and procedure documentation.
  • Is an admissions advisor for newly admitted students as assigned, communicates changes in admission to Admissions and Field teams, and assists with outreach to and on-boarding of newly admitted students.
  • Tracks effectiveness of recruitment efforts and provides reports to demonstrate outcomes.
  • Provides Director with insights, feedback, and critique of recruitment practices, procedures, and p ocesses to improve service.
  • Represents Crown Family School at relevant University-wide working groups and meetings.
  • Recruits and/or evaluates applicants for admission by interviewing, reading applications, and summarizing evaluations. Completes these tasks independently or with some guidance and instruction from others.
  • Travels and recruits in an assigned geography, assisting with planning and delivering public presentations, special events, and other recruitment activities.
  • Maintains relationships with all individuals involved in the recruitment process, including routinely counseling students and parents regarding the admission process.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

  • Experience working in a higher education research institution.

    Experience with PeopleSoft or similar course management systems.
