The Headlines:
In the role of Assistant Media Manager working in Chicago, IL, you’ll be joining the media team, working on both region and brand responsibilities. This person is a passionate media expert focusing on strategic thinking, innovative work, best practice application and executional excellence. This role supports the Media Manager to manage all planning and investment across both offline and digital media channels, building integrated plans that engage along the consumer journey and drive business results. As a media subject expert, you will engage with both external (media agency, media partners) and internal stakeholders (brand, field, channel, etc.) to ensure MCBC’s media plans are driving the market impact needed to meet business goals.
The Responsibilities:
REGIONAL MEDIA SUPPORT:
Collaboration:
Serves as the primary media contact for FMMs, partnering with our agency teams to ensure field teams have the information and tools needed to build confidence behind our media strategy and plans with the system, including providing National Media updates to the Field, building sell sheets for distributors, consulting on media elements in Local Alliance/Partnership deals.
Manages agency relationships for the field, ensuring agencies are delivering on scope requirements and meeting the needs of the business. Compiling and delivering feedback on behalf of your region both informally and through the annual agency review process.
Leads and manage follow-ups from local weekly agency status meetings with Connect CEN team, Billups, and Media Monks
Thought Leadership:
Builds market expertise through both in-person and remote learning. Expected to be in-market at least 3x per quarter.
Compile quarterly and ad hoc competitive reports to inform plans
Delivers organizational education/media training as requested (Media 101s, etc)
Media Planning & Activation:
Annual Media Planning Principles: Collaborate with peers & Connect to develop/ update Annual Local Media Portfolio Principles based on most up to date learnings to guide portfolio investment locally. Translate principles to individual markets, accounting for any nuances.
Lead planning, buying, execution and stewardship of all media plans across all channels for one region.
Manage monthly flowchart and budget updates for assigned region, ensuring budgets are fully up to date and savings have been explained/reinvested
Ensure annual distributor billing is delivered on-time and accurately
NATIONAL MEDIA SUPPORT:
Support the Media Manager in the planning, execution, and stewardship of all media plans across all channels for assigned brands.
Lead tactical planning, execution and stewardship of assigned brands’ social and podcast plans
Lead media activation for all brand acts, typically 5-7 per year
Manage monthly flowchart and budget updates for assigned brands, ensuring budgets are fully up to date and any larger shifts have been explained to Finance to ensure accuracy for monthly forecast.
Compile media highlights for assigned brands to merchandise plans to distributors on an annual and quarterly basis. Update monthly as needed,
Compile quarterly competitive reports for assigned brands (and ad hoc as requested)
The Other Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years media experience either within a client-side media department or media agency
Knowledge of media landscape with ability to translate to impact marketing opportunities
Well versed in digital, social, traditional, and programmatic media
Ability to manage self and working environment
Able to persuade and negotiate effectively
Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity

Job Posting Salary Range: (US/Nevada) $81,600 - $107,100
