TEKsystems P&C Project Manager in Chicago, Illinois

Description

This Sr. Project Manager will report into a PMO aligned to the underwriting division and will be responsible for overseeing projects related to enhancing and building frameworks aligning applications into the digital MGU's. The organization is going through an acceleration program which consists of continuous growth through M&A, enhanced technology to improve processes and standards, and consistent change. Insurance experience is a must have to understand terminology and business impact, as well as interact with business executives.

Candidate must have Property and Casualty Insurance experience

Candidate much have Machine Learning/AI experience

Candidate much have experience with a policy administration system

The Project Manager will be expected to identify issues and resolve problems following PMO guidelines and group standard operating procedures. A high level of communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively within all levels of the organization. The Project Manager must possess an acute attention to detail and the dedication to see projects through from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• New Product Development for a new line of business operating on a policy administration system. This project would involve running the business aspects, legal and compliance, as well as the execution for development and testing.

• Continue the effort to build frameworks and standards for modernization effort

• Understand the insurance business policy life cycle to communicate across various business units

• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with management, business stakeholders and project SME’s.

• Build, manage and track project plans through execution working with IT delivery and business executives

• Compile reporting documentation to monitor, track and prioritize deliverables

• Record meeting minutes for the source of truth

• Utilize Jira and confluence

• Monitor and update resource allocation needs to ensure coverage on project tasks

• Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project

• Identify program risk and mitigation plans to minimize impact on deliverables

• Lead meetings related to project status, risks, issues, action items, or change controls

• Effectively communicate relevant project information and provide direction to stakeholders and the Project Team

• Coordinate activities across different organizational functions

• Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion

• Manage projects relating to SDLC and legacy application enhancements

• Report project performance via the PMO, and escalate wherever necessary to ensure project success.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field

4+ years of project management experience, utilizing project management methodologies

PMP certification preferred

Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Ability to drive issue resolution

Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve issues, and make informed decisions

Strong ability to function in a fluid environment with shifting priorities and demands

Ability to handle challenging situations

Ability to direct others in a non-reporting relationship

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

Familiarity with various project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
