The Institutional Buy Side SBU is responsible for the strategy, execution and development of products that establish FactSet as the premier technology partner for the Analytics investment community. The Buy Side Middle Office group provides a fully connected ecosystem, increases operational efficiency, and reduces total cost of ownership for our clients. The Middle Office group is looking for a talented and motivated individual to work in a team that is responsible for FactSet\'s fixed income analytics engine. This team works closely with the Fixed Income and Derivatives Research, Fixed Income Infrastructure, and Product Management teams to enhance and support the core fixed income calculation engine and the specific pricing models it implements. The team is also responsible for an ecosystem of jobs and services that support the engine and other consumers of fixed income data at FactSet.
This position will report to the Associate Director of Fixed Income Analytics Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and test C++ based applications on Windows, Linux and cloud.
- Develop tools and services using script languages.
- Investigate, profile and optimize performance of the applications.
- Design, implement and maintain databases that store Fixed Income data.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers and quantitative researchers in agile environments to build best-in-class products and services.
- Ensure code quality with peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Provide technical support for products and clients requests.
- Learn and promote the state-of-the-art engineering practices, share knowledges and mentor junior engineers.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of full life-cycle software development experience
- 5 years of object-oriented development in C++
Critical Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work as part of a global, cross-functional team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and contribute to unfamiliar project areas.
- Ability to thoroughly test and debug code using test driven development methodology.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in FinTech industry.
- Experience in developing large-scale cloud solutions.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science is required
